Bring insect repellent for evenings. It’s not for no reason that people from Wisconsin claim the mosquito as the state bird. You may want to bring something to put on those bites as well.
A flashlight is helpful after dark. The camp gets quite dark when the lights are out. Enjoy the myriad of stars that you cannot see in the city!
Quiet mornings are a great time to enjoy wildlife. We recommend a birding app to help identify the many bird songs & calls you will hear.
Firewood is available for purchase on-site. Please do not scour the woods looking for branches to burn. If you see something burnable, ask us before taking it to your firepit.
Please respect your neighbors by observing quiet hours.
Pack sturdy shoes and long pants if you plan to explore any wooded areas. Be able to recognize poison ivy — the woods are full of it in some places. It’s best to stick to marked paths.

Can I request a specific campsite?
Yes. We’ll do our best to accommodate site requests but specific sites cannot always be guaranteed.
Can friends camp next to us?
Absolutely! Choose sites side-by-side when making reservations, or call and let us know so we can assign sites together whenever possible.
How many camping units can I place at my site?
Up to two camping units may be placed at a site for the use of the family unit occupying the site. A camping unit is a camper, RV, camper van or tent.
How many people may camp at my site?
One family unit allowed per site, which includes parents and/or grandparents and any dependent children.
What time is check-in?
Check-in begins at 2:00 pm daily. No early check-ins.
What time is check-out?
Check-out must be completed by 11:00 am daily.
What if I’m arriving late?
Late arrivals must have a reservation and may proceed to their selected site. We will not accept late check ins with no reservation.
Can I stay an extra night?
Please check with us in the office regarding site availability beyond your initial reservation.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, we love our furry friends! Friendly pets are welcome but must be kept leashed and under control at all times. Pet owners must clean up after their pets. We do not require a pet fee.
Can I have a campfire?
Yes, we encourage campfires when the conditions are appropriate and safe for doing so. Fires must be contained to the site’s fire ring and cannot be moved without permission.
Can I bring my own firewood?
Yes, if it’s from within 10 miles of the campground. If you come from further away, you may purchase firewood at our camp store or in the local area. No brush or pallet wood may be burned.
Can I have visitors during my stay?
Visitors to your site are welcome for an extra charge of $5 per person per day and should be registered at the office and receive a parking pass. Visitors may not be on the grounds during quiet hours (10 pm - 7 am).
How many vehicles can I park at my site?
A maximum of two vehicles may be parked at each campsite. If additional space is required, overflow parking is available behind the camp office on the south end of the property.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Not just yet, but fiber internet is coming soon! We’re just waiting for our provider to get their state permit to cross the highway to our property with their line.
Where do I put my garbage?
Trash cans and a dumpster are placed at the property. Please ensure all trash is placed in a receptacle.
Is there a dump station on the property?
We currently do not have a dump station; however, there are a few dump station locations in the community open to the public.
Where can I purchase/exchange/refill propane cylinders?
The Cenex gas station located at 26473 State Hwy 27, Holcombe, WI offers standard propane tank exchange and refill services for grill/RV tanks.
Ladysmith Ace Hardware located 15 miles north at 1104 E 4th St N, Ladysmith, WI is also a recommended propane supplier.
Just a few miles south of Holcombe, located at 406 Main St, Cornell, WI, Hey Everything Hardware offers propane.
Also in Cornell, the BP gas station offers standard 20-lb propane tank exchange.
Do you have rules about alcohol?
Alcoholic beverages (except kegs) are permitted at the campground provided they consumed only by adults 21+ and kept at your own site. Respectful and responsible behavior is still required when under the influence. Please properly dispose of beverage containers in the trash (not in the firepit or the woods).
What happens if it rains?
We hope you enjoy rainy-day activities in your tent or camper! The camp office has a selection of board games that may be borrowed with a refundable deposit. There are also a number of shops, restaurants, museums and galleries within a 20 minute radius of the campground.
What do I do in the event of severe weather?
Pay attention to your weather app and take shelter when advised. The safest location on the campground is currently the camp office. Please take shelter with us in that building if severe weather such as a tornado is approaching. Do not stay in your trailer or tent or near/under trees.
Will I see wildlife?
Yes! It's common to see deer, wild turkeys, songbirds, and other native wildlife. There have also been black bears sighted in the township recently. Please enjoy all wildlife from a respectful distance and never feed wild animals.
Who do I call in an emergency?
Call 911 first, then notify campground management as soon as possible.
Can I wash my RV or vehicle?
No. We do not have appropriate space or drainage for that type of water use.
Can I charge my EV?
We do not offer EV charging at this time. However, the Cenex gas station in Holcombe has an EV charging station.
Is there drinking water at the campground?
Yes! All campers have access to a common well spigot that supplies potable water. Most of our sites also have an individual water spigot originating from the same source. Site water is filtered through a system in the office.
Are bicycles, golf carts or ATVs/UTVs allowed?
We encourage bicycles and advise all campers to be cautious of moving vehicles. We allow golf cart and ATV/UTV usage as long as the campers driving them are licensed/permitted drivers (and can provide proof) and abide by campground speed limits, parking and safety rules.
